Cationic Rosin Sizing Agent

Development and application of cationic dispersed rosin glue

Development and application of cationic dispersed rosin glue
Rosin glue is a commonly used dispersing resin. It can disperse insoluble materials into organic solvents to form suspensions or emulsions. It is easy to dissolve and has excellent wettability, ductility and coating properties. Conventional rosin glue is acidic and neutral, but some special applications require rosin glue with positive charge, so it is necessary to develop cationic dispersed rosin glue.
1. Development of cationic dispersed rosin glue
When preparing cationic dispersed rosin glue, it is first necessary to replace the acidic groups in the rosin glue with groups with positive charge to make it cationic. Modification technology is usually used, that is, adding a certain amount of cationic polymers, such as carboxyl and amino groups of high molecular weight polymers, to the rosin glue to make it have a positive charge, thereby forming a cationic dispersed rosin glue.
2. Application of cationic dispersed rosin glue
(I) Wet dispersion technology is one of its important applications. Cationic dispersed rosin glue has good water solubility and can be used in wet dispersion technology, such as paint, coating, colorant, dye and other additives dispersion without changing the properties of raw materials, and has excellent microporous structure, which can effectively improve the dispersion stability and dispersion effect of additives.
(ii) Cationic dispersed rosin glue can also be used to disperse drugs, organic dyes and organic colorants, and used to prepare controlled release products to improve the overall efficacy and safety of drugs.
(iii) Cationic dispersed rosin glue has excellent rheological properties and can be used for printing inks. It has good stability and printing performance, and can improve the wear resistance and gloss of the printed ink film. It is particularly suitable for printing on the surface of electronic products and household appliances.
III. Research prospects of cationic dispersed rosin glue
Cationic dispersed rosin glue has achieved good results in application, but there are still many technical challenges to be solved in research and development, such as:
(i) Processability and thermal stability of cationic dispersed rosin glue. Improving processing performance and thermal stability is conducive to the wide application of cationic dispersed rosin glue.
(ii) The crystallinity of cationic dispersed rosin glue, improve the crystallinity and stability of rosin glue, and ensure its good dispersibility.
(iii) The cost of cationic dispersed rosin glue, reducing the material cost is conducive to industrial production.
In summary, cationic dispersed rosin glue is being widely used in coatings, inks, drugs and other fields, and has good development prospects, but there are still some technical challenges. It is hoped that in the future, through continuous research and experiments, the relevant technologies can be improved so that it can be better applied.
