The broad-leaved wood fiber price index fell by 3% compared to the previous quarter, also reaching a new low since the second quarter of 2017.

The main reason for the growth is the strong momentum of pulp exports to China in the second half of the year, with an annual growth rate of 16%. At the end of 2019, when the price of bleached broad-leaved kraft pulp stabilized at $680 per short ton, the price of bleached coniferous kraft pulp in northern Europe finally stopped falling and reached a three-year low of $820 per short ton in December.
